Sounds like they're not willing to put in the time necessary
to play at the level you'd like to be playing. Nothing you
can do will change that.

I know you're out in the sticks somewhere. Are there any
musicians nearby that can play at your level, or better ?
If there aren't any you're really stuck and you'll have to
find a way to live with the current situation if you want
to play in a band. Or go it alone as Derek suggests, though
I have a feeling you prefer playing with others.

If there are good musicians nearby how about starting your
own band ? Audition the musicians and take the ones that'll
work. Insist that if they're going to play with you they
have to be serious and reliable.

You could always move back to Chicago. There're probably
a few good musicians lying around there...
