PT's machine can fix that :-)
You should see the sound equipment at this new hall. The techs
can't be much over 20 years old and they're drowning in all this
new high tech stuff. I got to talk with them a bit yesterday
while helping to set things up. They have a seemingly unlimited
supply of JBL monitors, Rhodes and AKG mics. There are two
enormous sound boards, one just for the returns on stage, and
a third one for the lighting. All the cables are hidden under
the stage floor and a lot of things are wireless.
The hall is a bit strange in my opinion. It's completely dead
sonically, then everything that is done on stage is mic'ed then
played back through a fabulously sounding sound system (if quite
a bit too loud to my taste). The amount of reverb is then added
electronically. Even acoustic music is done this way.
I wouldn't mind being a sound guy there. The one I talked
to most said that he enjoyed it but preferred being on the
road.

One of the things I'm most undecided on is wireless...I bought one for
my guitar rig, then discovered I didn't spend enough on it and it picks
up cell phone pings...REALLY annoying. Other than that, I'd love to get
my hands on all that stuff.

...hmmmmnnn...first modeling amps, and now modeling halls...

I think I'd prefer being there to being on the road - one of the reasons
I dropped out of my former band (I've developed mild Crohn's and haven't
yet figured out all of just what I can do and what I can't)...and the
rats still made me get up and play tonight...I was supposed to just be
running sound...I think I'm being stalked...
